The Ashe County Sheriff's Office Detective Division operates under the direction of Major J.E Absher.  Absher, a 27 year veteran with the department, directs six full time detectives and one volunteer part time detective.  The Detective Division is responsible for investigating all crimes reported in Ashe County. 


Operating as a branch of the Detective Division, Captain Chris Miller along with two full-time detectives function as the Narcotics Division of the department.
